We’ve all had some kind of trauma. Pain, like talent, is a matter of what you do with it. Will you wallow or rise? “Skyborne” is rooted in resilience. Listen as I share, with brutal honesty, the journey of my life and the lessons I have learned.

Welcome

I am a survivor. I have survived many traumas throughout my life and I have managed to always move forward. I’ve been told many times I am naturally resilient. Is resilience learned or innate? I don’t have the answer for that. But then, I believe questions matter more than answers most of time. To think, to explore, to consider…that’s where growth occurs. A terrible thing happens to you. You naturally ask, “Why me?” And then, I would encourage you to pivot, as soon as you can, and begin to ask yourself, “What now?” And then, “What next?”

There is time to revisit, analyze, and heal, but it’s as critical to focus on the now as it is on the future. Your future. You need to imagine what that future will be and take the actions to realize it for yourself! Seek guidance. Ask for help. Find a therapeutic setting that works for you.

Nobody’s perfect. We try, we fall, we fail. Will you wallow or rise? That’s what you have to decide. I do a bit of both, depending on the event and the energy I have to work with, but in the end, I rise. I move forward. I try again. I remind myself I am not alone. I remind myself I am not broken. And I am here to remind you of the same.

The events chronicled in Skyborne are true and happened to me. The names and places have been changed or avoided to protect all involved. I hope you find something useful in my journey to help you on yours.

Yours in Growth,
K. G. Lockrams
